Student Artwork Display & Transition Services Awards
The Arizona Department of Education, Exceptional Student Services (ADE/ESS) invites you to participate in the 2026 IDEA Conference through two exciting opportunities:
- Student Artwork Display: Showcase original artwork from Arizona students with disabilities.
- Secondary Transition Services Awards: The awards recognize individuals for their excellence in providing secondary transition services and their successful navigation through the transition planning process toward postsecondary adulthood.
Student Artwork DisplayArtwork can be submitted if the artist is:
- Ages 3–22
- Identified as a person with a disability
- An Arizona student (public, charter, or approved private school)
Submission Guidelines
- Submit a high-quality digital image of original artwork.
- All materials and colors are welcome, but content must be appropriate.
- 3D artwork may be considered; ADE/ESS will coordinate delivery if selected.
- No video/audio submissions, but performance interest is welcome.
Display Details
- Student’s first name, grade, and school will be shown with artwork.
- Participants receive a certificate and photo of their displayed piece.
Transition Services AwardsNomination Categories
- Youth/Young Adult: Actively engaged in secondary transition planning
- Community Member: Supports inclusive community experiences
- Educator: Provides outstanding secondary transition services
An appropriate nominee is committed to positively impacting postschool outcomes for themselves or the youth they serve. They strive to improve professional practices by using strategies beyond compliance and best practice. Their dedication to transition planning exceeds basic job duties or general preparation for adulthood.
Award winners will be honored at the 2026 IDEA Conference.
